Paper is part of our everyday life and satisfies a need not always filled by digital media. In fact, the use of paper in offices has actually increased over the last several decades as a result of the ‘information revolution.’ Combined with this, the recently introduced Carbon Price in Australia has created a renewed focus on how businesses should manage sustainable operations.

Not surprisingly, carbon emissions from forestry activities including deforestation are a major contributor to global warming. It is currently estimated that 17.4 percent of annual carbon emissions to the atmosphere are the result of forestry activities and 35 percent of greenhouse gases stored in the atmosphere are the result of past deforestation. It is therefore important to not only understand, but to mitigate the environmental impacts of paper use across its life cycle – from raw material acquisition, manufacture, distribution and disposal.

DTS sources and uses Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) certified and carbon neutral paper. This paper has been designed to help businesses reduce the carbon footprint of paper use and simultaneously meet environmental commitments.

Resource Recovery and Recycling
DTS ensures that all their wastage is recovered, reused and recycled. All of our parts and supplies for our printing equipment is recovered and remanufactured. This helps DTS eliminates its disposal burden and also reduces waste to landfill and demand for new resources.
